Vince Chandler

Award-winning filmmaker and photographer based in Denver, CO.

Vince Chandler is a photographer and filmmaker with twenty years of professional experience creating art and documentary visuals across the United States. His professional career includes roles as Director of Communications for Denver City Councilwoman Shontel M. Lewis, Digital Content Strategist for National Cannabis Industry Association and Colorado Rising and Chief Content Officer of ƒ/4.20 Films.

He has worked in electoral politics from the local and regional levels, to lobbying the federal government in D.C. Vince moved to Denver in 2014 to be the founding Multimedia Editor for The Denver Post’s DPtv and The Cannabist, earning national recognition and awards, including a Heartland EMMY nomination for his work as a visual journalist for The Denver Post. He was principal cinematographer for the feature documentary film Running With My Girls, which premiered at the Denver Film Festival in 2021.

About Vince

Vince is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer in Denver, Colorado. He has worked professionally in politics, serving as Director of Communications for Denver City Councilwoman Shontel M. Lewis, and in news journalism as a multimedia photographer at the Denver Post. A documentary cinematographer, he made his feature length debut shooting Running With My Girls. He creates digital collateral for political candidates and ballot campaigns across the country and works daily as an artist with an activist mindset. His ongoing projects push for the realization of more progressive possibilities. His current film project Truth Rising and still photo portrait project Greetings From Fracked Colorado highlight the seen and felt impacts of climate change accelerated by oil and gas operations in the Front Range.

The co-founder of ƒ/4.20 Films, a visual production co-op, and the Executive Producer of NerdAF Show, Vince is celebrated for his innovative approach to reaching new audiences.  At National Cannabis Industry Association, the country’s largest full-time advocacy organization fighting to end the federal prohibition of cannabis, Vince leads the digital content strategy, crafting clever social media content and dictating tone for digital communication. Vince created The Cannabis Minority Report , hosted by Khadijah Adams and Mike Lomuto, the industry-leading information hub for Black and brown ownership and advocacy in the cannabis space. He also co-created the Cannabis Diversity Report with Tahir Johnson.

A multimedia journalist by training, Vince was Executive Producer and Director of "The Cannabist Show," a groundbreaking talkshow centered on the nuances and news of the brand-new legal adult use cannabis industry for The Denver Post. Founding Multimedia Editor for The Cannabist, earning the vertical it's first EMMY nomination for "Yoga With A View," lifestyle coverage.  His coverage as a visual journalist for the Denver Post includes the season-long project "Finding Broncos Country," and coverage of the team and its fanbase in Northern California for Super Bowl 50. He has led teams of journalists and producers to tell immersive multimedia stories about Colorado musicians, as well as shooting promotional pieces with Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper for The UMS.

A seasoned breaking news videographer, Vince has covered large developing stories on deadline for Colorado's largest newsroom, including the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood shooting and the live daily coverage of the Aurora Theater Shooter's trial. Vince sits on the Associated Press Photo Managers Board and is an NPPA member in good standing, he has experience operating live broadcasts, publishing podcasts, producing television, social-media-first live-streaming video, text-animation video and motion graphics. Graduate of Penn State’s Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications.
